In 2016 the USDA’s APHIS proposed new regulations that would allow the importation of Korean Phalaenopsis and Cymbidium orchid plants in growing media.
The arrival of the Korean Orchids requires a greenhouse inspection prior to the exportation to the United States. Following their quality inspection, each delivery of Korean Orchids will receive a phytosanitary certificate authenticating their high-quality conditions have been approved.
The strict new regulations implemented a comprehensive approach for growers, packers, and shippers to ensure and certify that the plants are free of pests and disease. Since these new regulations were finalized in 2017, KORUS Orchids has imported healthy, beautiful Phalaenopsis, Oncidium, and Dendrobium plants from Korea.
